Thanksgiving Reflection
Glad that I had a fine Thanksgiving today. How there is a whole lot to be grateful for, including for the opportunities I have been provided this year, like recovering well from my summer health ordeals, succeeding great on my challenging case analysis essay for my consumer education class, hanging out with my Dad's cousins in Galveston, going on a Utah trip where I went inside a Utah latter-day saint temple for the first time, etc. Here are some scripture verses for reflection (Ether 6: 9,12): "And they did sing praises unto the Lord, and he did thank and praise the Lord all day long; and when the night came, they did not cease to praise the Lord."
"And they did land upon the shore of the promise land. And when they had set their feet upon the shores of the promised land they bowed themselves down upon the face of the land, and did humble themselves before the Lord, and did shed tears of joy before the Lord, because of the multitude of his tender mercies over them."
Think how we should have a grateful attitude like that to sustain us. The first Jaredites themselves, in Ether 6, just finished through an ordeal of being in tight ships that went underwater at times, fiery tempests, mountain waves, and were on the ocean for about 344 days. I recently got through reading Come Follow Me 2024 that having a joyous, grateful attitude as demonstrated in those verses could have saved the Jaredites from their eventual devastating downfall. How we shouldn't take God & His blessings for granted. How I appreciate God for further answering my prayers including having a good Thanksgiving today after all (or glad we had a typical thanksgiving feast instead of not having one). Also, I appreciate God sincerely prompting me, making me overcome more of my weaknesses like overeating through his divine grace, and providing some temples blessings (inside & out) like, for instance, recently genuinely feeling divine sanctification on my countenance. I also while feeling really hungry during a temple session felt less hungry like some from divine interference. How all that personally confirms my faith that God is indeed true. Glad God answered my prayers of living in a superior house. After all, God did help out the Jaredites during their tumultuous ocean voyage by providing glowing stones and lids that protected them as they went underwater at times. So, try to think, especially if you believe in God, with joyous appreciation what blessings & help God has given you over time. I say this all in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
